QNET Appoints Malou Caluza as CEO

QNET is one of Asia’s leading direct selling companies offering a wide range of health, wellness and lifestyle products that enable people to lead better lives. For 20 years, QNET’s grass-roots business model fueled by the power of e-commerce has helped empower millions of entrepreneurs in more than 100 countries worldwide.

A Direct Selling industry veteran, Malou Caluza has been with QNET for the past 20 years, as its first Customer Service Officer and then moving up the ranks to become the company’s first female CEO.

A strong business development professional with a Commerce and Marketing degree from a university in the Philippines, she has acquired robust skills in Direct Selling Operations, Customer Relationship Management, Marketing Management, E-commerce, Business Development, Entrepreneurship, Strategic Planning and People Development over the years.

In a recent interview Malou stated:

Malou, what inspired you to join QNET 20 years ago?

I cannot recall what brought me to QNET all those years ago, but I do know why I’ve stayed on! Quite simply put, QNET has been my inspiration for two decades and counting.

We started small but with a big dream, and I am very fortunate to have been a part of that young, dynamic team. Back then, we were a single-product organization and pioneering the concept of blending eCommerce with network marketing. Yes, it was a concept unheard of then, but our founders were visionary, and we were firm believers in what we were building.

That belief inspired us to get where we are today

a business presence in more than 100 countries, offering over 100 products in the categories of health, wellness, home and living, personal care, watches and jewellery, online education and holidays, to millions of satisfied customers globally.

It’s easy to stay inspired every day when you have a dream worth pursuing.

Two decades and counting, is fascinating indeed! What has your journey with QNET been like?

There are two aspects of life that should never stop; learning and growth, and my journey with QNET has been exactly about that. I have been involved with multiple roles here; starting with customer service, to operations, marketing, finance, people development, strategic planning, and now, the first female CEO. This has given me the incredible opportunity to experience every aspect of our business and organization at close quarters.

The learning has helped me grow in my professional and personal lives, into an individual with far greater capabilities today, than when I walked in here first. And I speak for a lot many colleagues when I say this, because I have seen those around me undergo the same experience and grow into amazing leaders, the best-in-class professionals in our industry.

QNET is a special journey for everyone involved because of its ability to transform the ordinary, into something extraordinary.

What makes QNET so special?

We are an organization unlike any other. The way we operate, the importance we place on people development, our focus on nurturing relationships, building leaders, and our customer-centricity are all part of this unique experience.

Did you know that our corporate icon is Mahatma Gandhi? Our core values have been inspired by his ideals and built on the philosophy of RYTHM – Raise Yourself To Help Mankind. Everything we do, reflects this philosophy.

We have a service driven culture, and the ability to serve necessitates self-development as the first step. This explains the huge impetus we place on people development. One can look at our organization as a large family which includes our employees, customers, vendors, partners, and more, all coming together for a cause which is to make a difference, and a positive impact in the communities we operate in.

What has been your biggest challenge so far?

I believe Challenge and Success are two sides of the same coin, and its one’s perspective that determines the outcome. In 2016 I was diagnosed with cancer and that was probably the biggest personal challenge I had ever faced. It made me take a fresh look at life and priorities. In my battle to overcome cancer, the main challenge was to effectively juggle everything important to me – health, family, work and excel at it all. My family; both at home and at work, rallied around me and gave me the strength needed to get through that difficult phase, and ultimately overcome it.

When you face a challenge bigger than yourself, you must believe that you can overcome it. Do everything in your power, never give up, and you shall overcome.

What’s the difference between the organization you lead today and the one you joined 20 years ago?

As I mentioned earlier, we started small and are a successful global organization today. Many milestones later, what has still not changed is the passion with which we pursue that dream. As an organization, we are constantly exploring new ways of improvement, growth and service.

Our philosophy of RYTHM still drives everything we do. So, any difference between then and now is merely structural. At the heart of it, we are still the same.
