Melaleuca Team Members Beautify Community Parks in Annual Fall Cleanup

Each fall, Melaleuca Team Members embrace a cherished tradition: rolling up their sleeves to enhance the communities where they live and work. This week, almost 230 employees came together to care for two beloved gathering places—the Idaho Falls River Walk and Rexburg’s Eagle Park—continuing a legacy of service that stretches back several years.
Melaleuca’s community outreach was spotlighted by local media. On Sept. 26, 2025, Local News 8 (ABC affiliate) featured the event in its coverage: Melaleuca employees take time to clean up Idaho Falls Riverwalk. Stewardship Along the Snake River

In Idaho Falls, nearly 200 Team Members partnered with the city’s Parks and Recreation Department to restore roughly 2.5 miles of walkways and riverbank along the Snake River. Nine teams tackled thick brush, fallen branches, and overgrown vegetation to fill three massive dumpsters and dozens of trailers with debris.
City leaders echoed that gratitude. Following the event, PJ Holms, Director of Idaho Falls Parks & Recreation, wrote a note of appreciation to Melaleuca’s leadership:
“On behalf of the City of Idaho Falls, I want to extend my sincere gratitude for leading another incredible volunteer project. This marks the third year of the initiative, and each year it continues to have a meaningful impact on our community. It is truly inspiring to see Melaleuca live out its mission of enhancing the lives of those you touch by helping people reach their goals. By encouraging your employees to actively participate in public service, you are not only improving our community but also setting an example of corporate leadership and citizenship that others can look up to.”

Holms went on to emphasize the city’s appreciation:
“Thank you again for your commitment to Idaho Falls and for the remarkable culture of service you foster within your organization. We deeply appreciate your partnership and look forward to continuing to work together in the years ahead.”
Making a Difference in Rexburg

In Rexburg, another 30 Team Members united at Eagle Park for the second year. Together, they collected 12 full bags of garbage and hauled out 150 pounds of scrap metal—including bulky items such as a wheelbarrow and a shopping cart.
The project wasn’t without surprises. Midway through the cleanup, volunteers discovered that a herd of goats, which had been brought in by the city to eat invasive brush, slipped through their enclosure. Melaleuca Team Members quickly pivoted from hauling debris to helping corral the goats until the owner arrived.
“At the request of the city employee, Melaleuca Team Members stepped up to help corral the goats until the owner arrived to resolve the issue,”
said HR Business Partner Maria Garcia-Mendez.
“While unexpected, this was handled with positivity and humor by the Team Members, providing excellent service to the city.”
Living the Mission of Enhancing Lives

For Melaleuca, these cleanups are far more than service projects. They are living examples of the company’s mission to enhance lives. They bring pride, joy, and a spirit of service to the communities they call home.
“Thank you, Team Melaleuca, for living our mission of Enhancing Lives!,”
wrote Jamie Reynolds, Chief Human Resources Officer, in a message to employees.
“You’ve enhanced the lives of not only the Parks and Recreation team, but also the tens of thousands of people from our community who visit the River Walk!”
Now in its third year in Idaho Falls and second in Rexburg, this annual tradition has become a meaningful way for Melaleuca Team Members to serve together and strengthen community ties. And it all happened by restoring a riverbank, removing debris, and even rounding up a few runaway goats.
