Top Industry Leader AJ Yates Joins Neora and Achieves National Marketing Director Rank in Her 3rd Month

AJ Yates, a rising star at Neora, is no stranger to entrepreneurship. She likes to say it is woven into her DNA. She grew up immersed in her family’s business, sitting in marketing meetings and watching customer interactions. It’s no surprise that she is a natural in sales.

“By elementary school, I was starting little businesses of my own selling crafts, wrapping paper, anything I could create, and giving all the money to missions in Africa,”

she says.

“I’ve always loved sales, marketing, and helping people.”

While her journey with Neora is just beginning, she is already off to a blazing start, having earned a Destination Success trip for two to Cabo San Lucas and advancing to the elite rank of National Marketing Director. For AJ, this momentum isn’t an accident. It’s the result of a relentless work ethic, deep respect for the direct selling model, and a solid vision for her future.

Planting Seeds

While her family’s business was a more traditional brick-and-mortar operation, AJ was drawn to direct selling at an early age. Her grandfather was close friends with a family who still ranks in the top ten earners of all time in the industry.

“I remember going to opportunity events and feeling the excitement and possibility, even though my family never joined the industry,” she recalls. “Those seeds were planted long before I knew what they meant.”

AJ didn’t officially step into direct sales until five years after college.

Working Without the Walls

At the time, AJ was working full time as a director of marketing and PR in the family business. She tried a product to lose weight before her wedding, shared it with her bridesmaids, and casually made $34.

“That tiny check made me stop and think: If this is what happens when I’m not trying… what could happen if I actually did?”

she says.

Having grown up near one of the biggest success stories in the profession, she already knew direct selling worked. She also knew what she wanted her own entrepreneurial life to look like.

“I grew up seeing the blessings of business ownership, but I also saw the limitations — being tied to a storefront seven days a week and holidays,”

AJ explains.

“I wanted entrepreneurship without the walls.”

She built her business any way she could, including during lunch breaks, late nights, and weekends. She didn’t step down from the family business until she was earning at least $250,000 a year in the industry.

A Place to Call Home

AJ credits her family for modeling what business can look like when it’s built with heart and service. And in a full-circle moment, her mom is now a Neora Brand Partner, too. When AJ chose Neora, she wasn’t chasing a trend — she was choosing a long-term home.

“I was very clear on what I wanted this time: stability, innovation, and timing,”

she says.

She’d already lived through the startup phase in another company. While that season brought excitement and growth, she knew she didn’t want to build inside a brand-new structure again. She was looking for a firm foundation—proven, established, and built on solid leadership.

“I wasn’t looking for hype,”

she explains.

“I was looking for security, infrastructure, longevity, and a company that had already weathered the hard things and come out stronger.”

That’s exactly what she found in Neora.

“They fought one of the biggest legal battles in the history of our profession—and won,”

AJ says.

“Their case with the FTC sets case law for the industry to follow. That doesn’t just happen; that is leadership, integrity, and a company that protects its people.”

Neora, she believes, honors the heart of relationship-driven business while modernizing how Brand Partners reach people today. From an AI-driven CRM and tools like IntelliSkin Scan to on-trend flagship products with clinical results and a strong presence on platforms like TikTok, she sees a company that understands where consumers actually are now.

Finding the Right Fit

For those in direct sales looking for a company that aligns with their values and long-term goals, AJ’s message is simple: slow down and do your homework.

Her advice:

  • Look at the leadership.
  • Look at the products.
  • Look at the systems.

She encourages others to pay attention to how a company treats people, how it makes decisions, and whether the vision aligns with the life they want to build.

“My vision at Neora is to build an organization where men and women learn real business,”

she says.

“My goal is to show how we can honor the relationship-driven heart of this profession while also embracing how people shop and connect today. I want to help people build legacy businesses that their families can benefit from for generations.”

AJ says she has landed in the perfect place to achieve her vision.

“When you find a place where the products truly work, the culture is healthy, the systems are simple, and you feel both peace and possibility — that’s usually your sign you’ve found the right home,”

she says.
