News organizations are clamoring for interviews with Vemma Founder and CEO BK Boreyko after his recent announcement that the 9-year-old company would be making the switch to an affiliate marketing business model.
Vemma’s departure from the traditional MLM model is not as dramatic as it seems, says BK. In fact, the affiliate marketing update better fits how the company has always been: different, customer-focused.
“Amazon has one of the most successful affiliate marketing programs in the industry… and it’s a business model that in the online world is extremely commonplace, very easy to understand. There are a lot of similarities between network marketing and affiliate marketing,” explains BK in an interview with Tony Cannuli of Home Business Radio Network.
“You place an order online or through your phone, it arrives on your doorstep. Amazon pays out 10 percent and we pay out about 50 percent. That number isn’t changing.”
He continues, “Vemma doesn’t have an annual membership fee and we charge the same price for Customers and Affiliates. We don’t say ‘sign up and get 30 percent off. ’ I consider everyone a Customer.”
To hear how BK answers the critics about the big switch, why he thinks this is the best move given the climate of the network marketing industry and more, listen to the full interview with Tony Cannuli now.
