Brian, how did you get the vision to start Safe ID Trust?

Having been marketing online for 20 years, I recognized a trend of personal consumer data being circulated openly throughout the internet.  There were no checks and balances in place for how data was delivered and a complete disregard for privacy policies.

Social Security numbers, bank accounts and credit card numbers were being bought and sold, without the consumers' knowledge.  I recognized that over time this was going to be a big problem and consumers would be left to deal with the repercussions of fixing things on their own.  I saw an ID Theft company spending millions and millions of dollars on advertising, but their cost per new member was astronomical.  I asked myself,  If there was a way to introduce our needed service, through a warm referral, and pay a commission instead of advertising?

I knew this would  be a network marketing professional's dream, IF it was done properly.  That was 5 years ago, BEFORE the Target breach, Home depot breach, Blue Cross Blue Shield breach etc etc etc……the problem has only gotten worse since then.  My hunch paid off and today we are on the cutting edge of ID Theft recovery services.

How did you discover Network Marketing, I guess a friend invited you years ago?

OF COURSE!  I became the victim of a friend drawing circles on a napkin and was hooked!  There were a few influential people that showed me the WRONG way to build a team.  Once I realized we were in the people business and that helping people achieve their dreams would help me reach my goals, everything fell into place.

What makes your service unique?

We focus on RECOVERY, period.  Consumers have been lulled into a false sense of security.  Many think that credit monitoring will prevent their identity from being stolen, this is false.  We follow the Federal Trade Commission when they say, ID Theft is undetectable… so we focus on the most important aspect of Identity Theft, the recovery.

How many cars are stolen that have a car alarm installed?  Those owners still have car insurance, right?  Although we are not insurance, the point is the same.  Why would anyone risk paying thousands and thousands of dollars, and potentially hundreds of hours recovering their identity, when our service does it all for them with only a police report and limited power of attorney so we can work on their behalf?

Many competitors say they provide recovery and restoration services, BUT in their terms and conditions they sneak in words like help and assist.  We actually do all the work, versus those other companies providing suggestions and advice.  They also do not cover all forms of ID Theft, which we do.  No loopholes, no additional fee's and no excuses.  We have a 100% success rate in recovering identities.  Our price point is a fraction of what others charge, for a service that does not even provide the same peace of mind.

I am a big fan of Art Williams and love how he has changed the insurance industry.  While everyone was buying whole life, he came up with a simple phrase that changed everything, buy term and invest the difference.  Those 6 words shaped a billion dollar company.  We are changing the ID Theft industry with our own 10 SIMPLE WORDS, IF YOUR IDENTITY WAS STOLEN TOMORROW, WHO WOULD YOU CALL?  Most people have no idea and those that think they know are wrong.

How big is the problem in the USA?

It is an epidemic!!  It is the most reported crime in the country.  The government and law enforcement simply do not have the resources to solve this, and it is only getting worse.  Statistically, it is reported that 1 in 21 will be the victim of identity theft.  If they were part of a data breach, that statistic drops to 1 in 3.  Imagine this, according to NBC, 1 in 10 children are the victim of identity theft.  We are a couple years ahead of the curve.

Anyone who has ever had their identity stolen, knows how stressful and challenging it can be to recover their own identity.  Many are never able to do it and are stuck with the long term damage.  Today, they are our number one supporters.  By sharing what true identity theft is, we are on a crusade to educate consumers what their risk and exposure is, and how we can minimize it.  You can't do that effectively through a commercial, which is why our distribution channel, direct sales, is working so well.

One of our shareholders, Brian Richmond, was a former prosecuting Attorney with the Commonwealth of Kentucky and he put it this way, We have a responsibility, knowing what we know, to educate as many people as possible of the devastating damage identity theft causes.

What can you tell us about the compensation plan, is it a binary or unilevel?

We chose a coded bonus WITH a binary.  Instead of a new catch phrase promoting some revolutionary new way to make money on internal consumption, we chose two proven compensation plans and a way to integrate both of them.  The feedback has been INCREDIBLE and we are starting to attract some serious networks.  We are proud of the results our top agents are seeing in a short amount of time.

What are you personally most excited about with Safe ID Trust?

I love the fact that we are providing a quality service that everyone needs.  We really do not have ANY competition.  We do not compete with companies that offer credit monitoring because we agree with the FTC, you can't detect identity theft, so we focus on the recovery.  So, I am passionate about the service; however, I am an entrepreneur at heart and know we have an opportunity that is not like anything else out there in the market. 

We are not trying to change anyone's daily habits.  We have a multi-million dollar advertising campaign that runs daily that does not cost us anything!  Everyday in the news there are reports of identity theft and data breaches…. those reports do not cost us anything. VERY few people have a recovery plan in place, so the potential is unlimited. Finally, with the help of Kevin Thompson, we want to be the most compliant company in our industry.  We project that for every agent, we will have 50 retail customers.  Our disclosures are clear and compliance is critical for long term sustainability and growth.  

Finally, we are the only network marketing company that provides a fundraising component.  We can offer churches, non-profits and charities the opportunity to raise money, while helping their members and donors.  It is a win, win, win for everyone involved.  There has never been anything like it offered in our industry.

The industry has gone through many changes over the past several years.  Promises have been broken by owners, compliance has been disregarded and competition between nutritional, skin care and travel companies continue to rise.  I believe, and we are seeing, networkers are ready for something new, something that makes sense, and something that will last.

Do you have any plans to expand outside the USA?

Absolutely.  We are currently working with an international recovery partner that will allow us to expand into other international markets where identity theft is growing.  This will not only provide a solution internationally, but also a powerful opportunity as well.  We have a few products in the pipeline that are going to create a lot of excitement.  The future is bright.
