Vietnam Govt To Examine MLM Organisations
Vietnamese authorities will tighten the management of multi-level marketing activities to effectively control the operations of related business organisations, according to a news report by VietNam News, the national English daily.
This move followed an official document issued by the Government Office, showing opinions of Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc about handling violations in the MLM sector.
Phuc has instructed the Ministry of Industry and Trade to co-operate with other ministries and related sectors and localities, to monitor and examine the operations of multi-level marketing companies operating in Vietnam.
The Ministry of Public Security has been instructed to direct related agencies to control the business situation, and conduct basic investigations while checking misuse by organisations of multi-level marketing activities and imposing strict punishment on violators according to the law.
The media has recently reported the extensive misuse of multi-level marketing by fraudulent operators resulting in complaints from the public, and seriously affecting security in many localities.
These activities by the authorities have helped prevent, detect early and strictly deal with those who violate the provisions of the Government's Decree No/42/2014/ND-CP dated May 14, 2014 on the management of multi-level marketing activities. — VNS
