QNET organizes the 3rd Absolute Living Charity Run in Novosibirsk
On June 23, 2019, the 3rd edition of the Absolute Living charity run took place on the Mikhailovskaya Embankment of Novosibirsk and organized by QNET for its Independent Representatives (IRs). This event reflects the corporate philosophy of RYTHM – Raise Yourself To Help Mankind. The funds collected through such campaigns go to support those in need. The 2018 charity run in Novosibirsk raised 250 thousand Rubles for school supplies for children from low-income families. The year before, the run helped raise funds for an orphanage.
This year, participants arrived from almost all of Siberia: from Novosibirsk and the Novosibirsk Region, Barnaul, Omsk, Tomsk, Belovo, Biysk, Kemerovo, Tashtagol, Berdsk, Novoaltaisk cities. More than 1,000 people ran 2 kilometers along the Mikhailovskaya Embankment and raised a record 470,000 Rubles. 260,000 Rubles will be directed to the “Helping Hand” charity foundation to organize a summer camp for children.
The purpose of such camps is to create an accessible, social environment, where children with disabilities live, participate and contribute alongside others without disabilities, make friends in an inclusive environment. 200,000 Rubles were transferred to the head of the Kirov branch of the Regional Specialized Orphanage of the Novosibirsk Region, and 10,000 Rubles spent on a festive tea party at the “Snegiri” orphanage.
This year’s Run saw many regular participants running the distance for the third time, and many of them brought their families along. Elena, an IR who participated for the second time, said
“I came here with my husband and child, the organizers did their best, well done. It was fun! It is with this mood such charity events must take place!”
Stanislav Danilenko, Deputy Head of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the City Hall of Novosibirsk, and Andrei Perlov, Olympic champion in 50 km walk, addressed the participants of the race with welcoming words. Stanislav Danilenko noted that the it was a large-scale event for all who choose a healthy lifestyle.
Warm up sessions before the start were conducted by professional fitness instructors. Yevgeny Shchegolikhin won in the men’s category while Irina Popkova claimed the top spot in the women’s category. Winners and participants were awarded medals, certificates and gifts, and enjoyed a festive party thereafter making stylish videos with the freezlight drawing technique, dance to the fiery DJ tracks, and games. Master classes were held for children where they enjoyed crafts and earnt to make a turntable.
