Founded in 2006 by Thompson and Chris Chambless, Ambit provides electricity and natural gas services in deregulated markets in 16 states and Washington D.C., primarily using a direct sales channel of more than 400,000 Independent Consultants.

The company has more than 1.3 million customers nationwide and recorded revenue of $1.37 billion in 2015.
