LifeVantage Appoints Dr. Brian Dixon As SVP Research & Development

LifeVantage formally introduced its new Senior Vice President of Research & Development Dr. Brian Dixon – who joined the company earlier this month – at its Elite Academy in Kansas City, Mo., last weekend.

“We are thrilled to have someone of Brian’s professional and academic caliber to help take us into the next decade of biohacking at LifeVantage,”

said LifeVantage Chief Marketing Office Ryan Goodwin.

Dixon has worked in the nutritional industry for more than 10 years in a variety of executive health and science education and product innovation capacities. He holds a Ph.D. in molecular and cellular biology from Oregon State University’s in affiliation with the Linus Pauling Institute, where his research focused on the underlying biochemical and cellular mechanisms of aging.

Dixon went on to do his post-doctoral work at the Linus Pauling Institute evaluating the bioavailability of lipoic acid in young and elderly adults and its role in ameliorating deficits known to occur with age.

He has authored a number of scientific, peer-reviewed manuscripts on topics such as cancer, antioxidants, cellular signaling, gene regulation, stress coping mechanisms, Nrf2, weight management, sports nutrition, and recovery following intense exercise.

Dixon has also published research on the role of nutrition in recovery from surgery, healthy inflammation response, immunity, the aging process, and nutrients such as glutathione, vitamin D, plant polyphenols, and other phytonutrients. He has also authored a book chapter examining the role of dietary antioxidants and cardiovascular health in the elderly.

Dixon has been in the nutritional industry for over 10 years. In that time, he has had many roles from managing human clinical research, product innovation, product development, health education, public speaking, social media, and content marketing. As the result of these efforts, he has been a co-inventor on no fewer than seven filed patents related to the nutritional industry.

“Nutrition has always been close to my heart,”

Dixon said.

“I’ve seen first-hand the power of proper nutrition—and even individual key nutrients—in helping to provide optimal health.

The reason I’m so excited to be joining the LifeVantage scientific team is for one reason and one reason only – their unyielding and uncompromising commitment to creating effective, science-based health products.”
