“I truly thought this chapter of my life was done,” Denne remarks, “then Covid-19 happened.”
“I began thinking about the long-term effects of the health crisis, global economic shutdown, the money printers firing up in every central bank, the massive loss of first and second jobs and industries lying ahead and a recent stat that claimed an additional 547m people, globally, will be pushed into poverty because of this crisis.”
In a moment of reflection, Denne realized that he is “not happy with just passive income or investments. I feel dead inside if my days are just filled with counting numbers on a spreadsheet. I can’t solve all of the world’s problems (and don’t even understand half of them), but I do understand what it feels like to lose people you love, to drown in financial stress and uncertainty, and to regain stability and have hope for financial freedom and a brighter future. I know how to overcome crushing adversity and to lead others out of theirs. This is something I can do.”
In other words, Denne recognized the challenge facing him, his loved ones, and the world and has decided to rise to the occasion and build. In his words, “I have committed myself, as of this past month, to build with the incredible leadership and vision at Beyond, because building the bridge between the current global monetary system and the emerging crypto-economic systems is one of the most important opportunities to level the playing field for the billions of people stuck in the 99%.”
Like many of us, Denne acknowledges that he isn’t necessarily naturally proficient in technical and digital know-how but has always offset that with his drive and will to succeed.
Denne sounds like a man with a plan, and an urgent one at that, when he provides the following insight. “With 30m people newly unemployed in the U.S. alone and with all the normal second income streams like ride-sharing and airbnb unavailable as of this writing, and 547 million people around the world being pushed into poverty from Covid-19, I see our industry as the ultimate vehicle to allow people from any background, nationality, or race to stake a claim in securing new stability with an exponentially reduced cost and risk of failure compared to any other entrepreneurial undertaking.”
Denne also attributes much of his success to the crucial mentorship he received as a younger man, and sees the value in providing that same level of leadership and mentorship to his team of field leaders today.
