Former First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt once said, “A woman is like a teabag: You’ll never know how strong she is until you put her in hot water.” Meagan DeSart personifies this quote with her remarkable journey to success.
What makes her story stand out is her incredible ability to rise from the ashes of her past and make a difference in the lives of many women.
Meagan’s meteoric rise to the top of the direct sales industry empowered her to establish teams of over 20,000 members worldwide, many of whom have earned six-figure incomes under her mentorship.
Looking at the height of her success, it is difficult to imagine Meagan was once homeless, a point in her life that she willingly shares with others, to encourage women to take a chance at success even when they are at their lowest point in life.
“I used to be a homeless meth addict and my future looked like either death or prison. Yet, I have been able to achieve a massively successful and fulfilling life. If I can do this, so can others. Your past doesn’t equal your future.”
Meagan’s direct selling career started nine years ago as a means to spend more time with her family. She was in a crisis mental health job, working 12 to14-hour days, coming home too late and getting to work too early to ever spend time with her two sons. By the time she had her third child, a baby girl, she decided to change how things were. She went into network marketing, discovered she had what it took to succeed in it, and decided it was her ticket to a more ideal work-life balance.
“I fell into network marketing by accident (although I don’t believe anything is an accident) and instantly felt in my soul this was going to be the way to bring myself home.
After 17 months, I was able to replace my income and bring myself home to finally be the mom I always wanted to be.”
Since that fateful career change, Meagan turned her life around for the better. She helped fund her husband’s dream food truck business, setting up one food truck in Oregon run by her eldest son, and another in Florida, where she is now based with her husband. Her success also paved the way for speaking engagements, giving her the opportunity to work with well-known motivational coaches like Tony Robbins and Bob Proctor.
Throughout her direct-selling journey, Meagan has been on the lookout for companies that can help her introduce moms to opportunities to earn more while having enough time to spend with their families. Her good friend Holly Foley, another Beyond Slim® top performer, introduced her to the company and its mission of making millions of people get fitter, healthier and happier.
