David and Terri Miller Achieve 1 Star Presidential At LifeWave

Leaders Building Leaders: David and Terri Miller Achieve 1 Star Presidential at LifeWave.

For David and Terri Miller, married 42 years, a new chapter in direct selling began with a decision never to return to it.

After selling their previous business, they envisioned a simpler life centered on family and travel. They did not expect a new opportunity to apply their experience and passion for developing people.

A Foundation of Mentorship

Terri spent 17 years with Mary Kay Cosmetics while founder Mary Kay Ash was alive and actively involved, earning six pink Cadillacs during her career with the company. Receiving direct mentorship from Mary Kay helped shape her understanding of encouragement, service, and leadership.

David spent 27 years with UPS. In 2004, as new empty nesters, the Millers decided to take a chance and build a network marketing business together.

Over the next 22 years with a leading health and wellness company, they achieved its highest rank and developed one of its largest leadership organizations. For David, coaching became especially meaningful — helping people work toward their health goals while developing the confidence and skills to lead others.

Together, they cultivated generations of accomplished leaders and remain grateful for the mentors who strengthened their ability to develop people and teams.

When the company’s culture and direction shifted, they felt their values were no longer aligned and chose to leave.

Clarity Before a New Chapter

Prayer, journaling, and personal development became central to that transition.

Helen Urwin’s Being Giant work helped them gain clarity through “Essence” — bringing their head, heart, and gut into alignment. That clarity helped them recognize it was time to move forward.

They also value John Maxwell’s and Jim Dethmer’s teachings, viewing personal growth and conscious leadership as essential to listening, growing, and serving others.

Their priorities became clear — simplify their lives, contribute to others, and surround themselves with people who shared their values.

An Unexpected Introduction

A trusted friend introduced them to LifeWave’s wearable wellness technology while David was Terri’s caregiver during significant health challenges.

They were exploring products, not planning another business.

Curious about X39, they ordered patches and began reviewing educational resources. Before their order arrived, Terri shared information with nine friends and family members who also chose to order.

Steve and Gina Merritt’s accessible educational resources helped her learn and share information simply.

During a European trip, David cycled through Provence, including Mont Ventoux. While using the patches, he was surprised by his endurance and how strong he felt despite limited preparation.

Two doctors noticed Terri’s patches and expressed curiosity about the technology. Their questions sparked her interest in LifeWave’s business opportunity, prompting the Millers to examine its international presence and support.

Learning to Draft

They carefully evaluated the opportunity, appreciating founder David Schmidt’s vision and innovation while prioritizing the character of its leaders.

The Millers’ enthusiasm for LifeWave’s wearable wellness technology gives them a strong sense of purpose and a responsibility to share information so others can explore it for themselves. They are also excited by David Schmidt’s creativity and vision for future inventions, viewing his continued pursuit of innovation as an important part of what draws them to the company’s future. Meeting Steve and Gina Merritt and Danny and Diane McDaniel reinforced their appreciation for their upline’s integrity, mentorship, and generosity.

As Christians, they valued a community where they felt comfortable sharing their faith.

The THIS IS IT System provided established educational resources, training, and events. For David, a cyclist with more than four decades of experience, learning from those leaders brought a familiar concept to mind: drafting.

They still had to pedal, but they did not have to chart the entire route themselves.

With that guidance, they could focus on supporting people while drawing on resources already in place.

Leaders Building Leaders

The Millers report reaching LifeWave’s highest rank at the time within seven and a half months of building.

In 2025, LifeWave Corporate recognized them with the Highest Personally Sponsored Rank Advancements Award for North America — a reflection of their passion for helping others develop as leaders.

Their philosophy is “leaders building leaders building leaders.”

They begin by understanding each person’s goals, then offer encouragement, practical guidance, and support — helping people pursue their own aspirations.

A Future With Purpose

Their four grandchildren, love of travel, and commitment to generosity remain central to the future they envision.

Having navigated a difficult season together, they are grateful to be planning a new chapter with renewed purpose.

With their business currently concentrated in the United States, the Millers now envision adding an international dimension to their established team. They hope to connect with people across borders who share their commitment to integrity, personal growth, and service, supporting emerging leaders through mentorship and the THIS IS IT System.
