Mario and Melanie Cabral From Australia Achieve Highest Rank At LifeWave

Mario & Melanie Cabral were introduced to Network Marketing in 1990 when Mario was in college in the USA on a tennis scholarship.

Mario explains,

“I saw the circles, my first introduction to Direct Selling, and wow, how this industry changed our lives for the better. Through books & conferences, our mindsets were transformed.  There is power in plugging into the right training system developed by leaders with integrity.”

Melanie explained,

“We became true believers, that through relational marketing our dreams could come true, and we could impact the lives of people around the world. Whilst we didn’t achieve success on the outside- never reaching the highest ranks with any company, we were growing on the inside, and this impacted our family in countless positive ways.”

Mario & Melanie became friends with Steve & Gina Merritt, in 2008, they were their leaders in an earlier direct selling opportunity, then their journey took an expected turn. The Global Financial Crisis hit Mario & Melanie hard in 2008.

Melanie shared,

“After pretty much losing it all:  multiple homes/businesses, everything except the most important things: our faith, family & friends – we made the decision to move to Australia and start a new life with our 4 young children, ages 5, 6, 8 & 9.”   

From 2009 until 2022, their focus was on other things- raising a family, Christian ministry & the development of a tennis academy. By profession, Mario is a professional tennis coach who competed at tournaments around the world including, Wimbledon and the French Open.

He says,

“My biggest prize wasn’t a tennis trophy, it was winning Melanie’s heart – we met on the train leaving Paris when I was 18 and have now been married over 30 years.”

Melanie shared,

“In 2022 our lives, once again, changed dramatically.  We lost ability to operate our business at the location we had built up over 10 years through a closed tender process with a contract being given to a former employee. This caused our income to go immediately to nothing.” 

With their belief and faith that God was working all things together for their good, they purchased an existing tennis business, relocating 14 hours away from family & friends to develop it.  

“Initially it was fantastic, and we saw exponential growth but then, suddenly 2-year campaign, was launched, led by someone in the same industry to destroy our reputation and keep the business from developing.

Mario was on his knees praying for a solution to the situation which was pulling the family deeper into debt daily. The answer to prayer came in the form of a phone call from Steve Merritt. Because we trusted Steve and Gina, and understood the power of relational marketing, I basically said, whatever Steve tells you to do, do it and do it now.”  

Melanie had history with the Merritt’s.
