AAA+, AA+, A+ and B: Company Ranks Explained

The BFH Momentum List and AAA+ ranking system for Network Marketing companies (also known as MLM – Direct Sales – Social Selling companies) often becomes an important part of a business builder’s due diligence.

DUE DILIGENCE: the investigation or exercise of care that a reasonable business or person is expected to take before entering into an agreement or contract with another party, or an act with a certain standard of care.

In other words, opportunity seekers often want to know:

  • How is a company doing, compared with its peers?
  • How transparent is the company?
  • Are field leaders building with this company actively engaged, promoting, successful?

Millions of field leaders around the world view these ranks annually, sometimes with intent to create a shortlist of interesting opportunities if they are in the “looking zone.”

This ranking system is based on a number of facts and figures such as:

  9. Number of top earners

  13. Insider information

The companies periodically receive a classification, based on the following. Approximately:

  •   5% have a AAA+ ranking, the highest recommendation.
  • 30% have a AA+ ranking.
  • 35% have a A+ ranking.
  • 30% have a B ranking.

What do the grades mean?

  • AAA+  Based on available data and industry indicators, the company shows strong performance across leadership, growth, and field activity, reflecting high overall momentum.

  • AA+  Based on available data, the company generally shows solid performance across key metrics, with positive indicators in leadership, product-market fit, and field engagement.
    (500 Momentum ranks points)
  • A+   Based on available data, the company shows mixed or developing signals across growth, field momentum, and overall activity. This can reflect companies at different stages or with varying levels of momentum.
    (250 Momentum ranks points)

  • B  Available information is limited, conflicting, or unclear, making any reliable assessment difficult.
